QUINCY, MA — A new restaurant is set to open in Quincy Center sometime this summer. Coolgreens, hopes to bring healthy food options in a fast, yet casual setting when it opens at President’s Place.

Coolgreens is a chain based in Oklahoma, which specializes in salads, wraps, bowls and flatbreads. Franchiser Demy Martin, a Weston native, is opening what will be the first Coolgreens on the East Coast. Martin also has plans to open the chain in Waltham. Being from Massachusetts, Martin said he first heard about Coolgreens from his daughter.

“My daughter is getting married this summer to a guy she met in college from Oklahoma,” Martin said. “She was the first to tell me about the great food at Coolgreens and I have visited and ate at Coolgreens on numerous occasions.”

Although the chain isn’t based anywhere near New England, Martin said the menu will feature dishes that use fresh and local ingredients. The salads in particular are Martin’s favorite dish when he visits a Coolgreens. He said he likes them because they are healthy and made daily.

“I believe the food is perfect for Quincy…,” Martin said. “Most of our menu items are gluten free and sourced locally.”
